Supporting families prenatally. Pros/Cons of birthing techniques/methods Non-clinical ways to recognize the stages of labor. Getting Dad involved with birth. Comfort measures for stages of labor. Normal variations of labor. Postpartum support for doulas. Building relationships with the birth community. Informed consent and advocacy. 20 hour workshop (two 8-10 hr days, potluck lunch) Pre-requisite reading required. Minimum 5 participants. Attendance certificate given at completion. Includes post workshop consultation, mentorship, and testing if desired.
